Nick Made Door Handles From Old Wrenches For Our Shop

When we put in the lovely french doors in our new shop building we knew
we wanted some special handles.
We looked around at antique stores and home depot etc and nothing really "spoke" to us.
So Nick came up with the brilliant idea of using some of his many  (understatement) wrenches
to make our own. He made them yesterday.

He drilled holes which was somewhat tricky on the hardened steel.
He used a solid carbide drill bit.

First week working in our new jewelry shop!

workinginshop

This week we moved all my jewelry stuff into the new shop and I started working

in there. I never want to leave it. There’s so much room and a place for everything.

And light! Lot’s of light!

What’s been happening…

A lot has been happening! Nick turned 48. We call this picture Zombie daddy.

Henry went to his first 6th grade Middle School dance. He was the life of the party.

We had Nick’s Aunt Alice visit and cousin Azreal. Alice is 85 year’s old and has

been accepted into the peace Corp. She is heading to Morocco in January for 2 years!

My son affirmed my status as awesome Mom.

AND… We broke ground on our new shop building that is being built right now!

The big hole

The empty pockets that this big exciting project will cost us. (But worth every penny.)

We have a new employee…

Meet our sexy new thermal printer Dymo. She is replacing our old sturdy “Buddy”
the Zebra. We purchased Buddy about a year ago and was a grand improvement
from the old inkjet but he was purchased “refurbished”. He never really made the
labels all that dark despite playing with every setting option. And he would take
a long time to warm up or something in the morning before he’d start printing.
Our new Dymo gal is eager to please the minute we click print. Her labels are nice
and dark  and she makes the cutest little computery sounds sort of like R2D2. I love
how Buddy looks nervous in this picture.
