More Celtic Trinity Knot Shawl Pins and Ornament

sstrinknotpin5

I’ve been working on adding this design to our shop as shawl pins. This is the

Sterling Silver Celtic Trinity Knot Shawl Pin . It could probably work well in hair

but will only hold small amounts of hair.

And this is the Little Celtic Trinity Knot Cross Sterling Silver Shawl Pin  that would

work best on lacy light weight shawls, scarfs shrugs etc.

This design lends itself well as an ornament too!

New Big Celtic Pendants In Our Shop

After making the Celtic Trinity Knot Aluminum Hair Pin, Shawl Pin I realized a
pendant would work well too. The Big Celtic Trinity Knot Aluminum Pendant is now
available too in our Etsy shop.

We also added the Big Celtic Swirl Shamrock Whirl pendant to our shop this week.

So I had finally gotten back into the swing of blogging again and then Windows Live Writer changed everything on me and I have to learn how to use blogger now. I am a slow learner.

New Celtic Trinity Knot Aluminum Hair Pin , Shawl Pin

altriniitycrosspin1

I had a customer ask if we could do something like this with the trinity knot design.

At first I thought it would be too hard to do. But I’ve been getting the hang of

remaking this design.Embarrassingly I lost her contact information so if you are

out there and see this,

Sorry I didn’t get back to you and thanks for the suggestion!

New Celtic trinity knot hair fork or shawl pin

Altrinityknotfork3

This is a fresh new Celtic trinity knot fork now available in our Etsy shop.

Altrinityknotfork1

Based on the classic Trinity knot design this hammered aluminum fork would

work great as a shawl pin or hair fork. It is very soft and flexible because it is

aluminum so it might not work well for heavy, long hair. It’s always so hard to

tell if a hair accessory will work well for your hair with out trying it on so if it doesn’t

work well you can return it for an exchange or refund. The beauty of aluminum is

that it is so light weight so it won’t feel heavy in your hair or shawl. I love working

in aluminum.

My hanging candle lantern hooks project

Early this spring Nick and I came upon one of those awesome country yard sales

down the road from us that makes me giddy with frugal joy.

I was able to buy 7 of these assorted candle lanterns for a mere $.50 each (and the

perfect bird feeder too for the same price.) But how was I going to use them on

our lovely back deck?

So I pulled out my trusty coil of 9 gauge aluminum wire we use for all our

hanging vases and other aluminum wire items we sell in our Etsy shop.

With my favorite 27 year old pliers I came up with this design (which we also

make earrings similar too.)

Then hammered it with my hammer and anvil to make it stronger.

Put the hook on the lanterns…

and hung them up on the handy support rods that run across our porch overhang,

This is the delightful view out our kitchen window.

Lots of new jewelry in the shop!- Earrings,Pendants, Pins and more

I’ve been adding lots of new designs and stones and variations of designs into the

shop the past month. These earrings above are Celtic Teardrop Swirl Spirals Sterling

Silver Wire Earrings. They are a pretty little design I came up with a long time ago

and have just managed to get in there.

This Looping Celtic Crossed Knots Sterling Silver Pendant was a request from a

customer. It’s the pendant version of the earrings and shawl pin design.

I have to say I was pretty pleased with the way this picture came out of the new

Little Butterfly Sterling Silver Shawl Pin, Scarf Pin. It just sat perfectly on our daylily.

Ever since we sold out of our little lapis earrings and used up all the lapis beads

we had I’ve been wanting to add another lapis design - Small Lapis Lazuli and

Pearl Pendant .

Small Lapis Lazuli and Fresh Water Pearl Earrings

Long Copper Double Teardrop Spiral Hoop Earrings

Big Copper Double Hoop Earrings - Hammered Big Hoops

Owl Copper Shawl Pin, Sweater Brooch, Scarf Pin, Fastener

This was also a custom request for the

Norse Thor's Hammer Mjolnir Aluminum
Hair Stick, Shawl Pin, Scarf Pin

We thought it was a great idea!

New Celtic Knot Cross earrings in our shop

I've added 2 new earrings to our Etsy shop. Once again they are based on older designs and really just needed to be made in sterling silver as earrings.

Loopy Bliss Cross Sterling Silver Wire Earrings
$15

Celtic Knot Infinity Swirl Cross Sterling Silver Earrings
$22.50
I needed to charge more than I usually do for our sterling silver wire earrings for these because they are really tricky to make match and they actually use a lot of wire. I don't expect them to sell quite as well because of the price but I've got to be realistic about my time and cost of materials for my products if I want to make a living.
Yesterday was a decent day at Saturday Market. It was very busy with the Eugene Track and Field competition and the beginning of the Bach Festival in town and the weather was lovely warm and sunny. For a while it seemed like customers were mostly looking and shopping around before making their decisions but in the end it added up to a good enough day.
This week the kids start their swimming classes and our full on summer of long days of sibling fighting and boredom sets in.
I'm rethinking the camp thing...

Double Swirl Shamrock Whirl

It was REALLY HARD to pick a new name from all your good suggestions! I wish I could have picked every one and done Sterling Silver Celtic Wizards Swirls and Whirls Standing Tall Resurrection Lily Flip Twinkles but somehow that doesn't sound right.

But I came up with a mix of Mimi amd Moe's Mom's "Celtic Swirls and Whirls" and June's "Double Tip Shamrock Flip"

I included the "Sterling Silver" part because I think it helps in the Etsy search system to have it in the title.
So Mimi and Moe's Mom- send me your address ( Via etsy convo or email) and I'll send you a pair of earrings and Nick's mom June will be getting a pair too.
Thanks for participating everyone!

Variations on a theme

I sold a Treble Clef Shawl Pin last week and it suddenly dawned on me that I should make other shawl pins. My Celtic Budding Spiral designs lends itself perfectly to this so -ta da! I love that.

Here is the Celtic Budding Spiral Shawl Pin. And I already sold one too!

This is another old design I resurrected for a pendant. The Big Aluminum Spiral in a Circle Pendant. It sells well at the Saturday Market.

These are our pet caterpillars that we orderd with our butterfly house. They arrived about 10 days ago as tiny little 1/2" caterpillars. They grew and grew and then hung themselves upside down and started making their chrysallis. It took a lot of convincing and explaingin to the boys not to touch and move them around or they will fall and die. More updates to come...

We opened the door to our bedroom yesterday and this is what we saw.
